I love my big brothers kids. They are all so funny and so much fun to be around. I don’t think they realize just how cool they are but these are some cool kiddos. There are four in total, from 14 to 2 years old, three girls and one boy. And I love them. Even if they think I’m a dork. I’m cool with that. *flashes peace sign*
My oldest niece is coming into her own and is such a beautiful girl. I envy her long gorgeous hair – my hair will never look like hers and I’m completely jealous. My sister-in-law refers to her as “the angry one.” It suits her – she’s a teenager, I’d be pissed too. But my favorite thing about my oldest niece is that she does not hold back on the jokes. Love it. You can tell we’re related.
My nephew – the only boy besides Big Bro – has an old soul. He comes off as reserved, takes care of his Hot Wheels as if they were diamonds and is amazing with his sisters. I’ve never met a child, let alone a boy, that cares so much about how others feel. If you give him a gift, it’s “exactly what he wanted.” Such a sweetheart. He’ll have the girls melting in his hands in no time.
My second oldest niece – the monkey – is a spitting image of my brother. He sure does make a pretty girl. Seriously though, this is what my brother looked like when he was her age, only not with shoulder-length red hair. That didn’t come until high school when mullets were all the rage. This monkey is incredibly goofy and reminds me of myself quite often. She’s also incredibly easy to bribe – this kid will do anything for a dollar. And she has. And she’s made money off me. And it was worth it. I love this goofy girl.
The newest addition to the brood is the youngest girl and she’s a cute little elf. I haven’t had the chance to spend as much time with her as the other kiddos as she doesn’t travel to Louisville like the older monsters. She does the funniest things though and has no problem telling you exactly what she wants you to do. And she can cut quite the rug. She was jamming to David Bowie’s Under Pressure and it was hilarious. I can’t wait until she’s four and I can get her to do things for a dollar.
Love them, love them, love them. I don’t visit too often because I hate riding in the car but looking through all of my pictures makes it worth it. I’m looking forward to the holidays with my family and hopefully the little elf will be better at opening gifts come her birthday and Christmas.
Thanks for letting Mom and I invade your home for the day, Big Bro – we miss you guys already.
