Later this afternoon I’m hitting the pavement with my pal VJ and the hubs [but only if he starts feeling better because I am NOT getting sick] and traveling to nearby Nelson County, Bardstown, Kentucky. And I’m quite excited about it.
My friend Susie is getting hitched in her hometown of Bardstown and I’m taking advantage of this. I told VJ it would be like a “mini-vacay, a day trip to get away from it all.” So we are taking in the sights. And the kahuna will be in tow.
Look out Maker’s Mark Distillery, here we come! Talbott Tavern, I’m ready to put my face in your heaping plates of food! And that’s all I really got right now because we’re pretty much playing the rest by ear. But I’m looking forward to our day trip and I’m looking forward to looking like a tourist. Fingers crossed I get some nice shots – it’s such a dreary day outside I’m worried about the light already.
And of course, I can’t wait to see Miss Susie walk down the aisle and to party down with her at the reception and eat again. I have no idea what’s on the menu but I don’t care. Because it’s a wedding. And there will be wedding cake. And I heart wedding cake.
