Post-Party Sunday

We celebrated the hubs’s 30th birthday yesterday.  I love hosting parties – my house gets clean, the food is always yummy, our friends are the best people in the world and they have a good time.  How do I know they have a good time?  Because there are always a few stragglers that stick around until 2:30 in the morning.  Every time.  Makes me feel like my friends feel at home in my home.  I love it.  Oh, and they always come back.

I took a lot of photos last night.  They aren’t that great though.  I don’t know what it is about my house , but the lighting sucks.  Even when I change the white balance, everyone looks like they’re jaundice.  And everything is so cramped.  Don’t get me wrong, I love my house but there is not enough room in the kitchen or the family room.  Everyone hangs out in those 2 room – the only thing in the dining and living rooms are coats and purses.  We need to knock down some walls.  So horrible lighting mixed with tight quarters makes for uncomfortable photographs.  But at least I can say I tried.

The birthday cake.  Lit afire with 30 candles.  My absolute favorite picture of the evening.  It put off quite the glow.  And the hubs only got 29 of the candles out – I guess we’ll try for 30 again next year.

Like I said, not very many good ones.  I love how the goofy pictures are the ones that are clear and crisp and easy to clean up.

This week is a doozy – I’m traveling Tuesday and Wednesday on business so I have to have all of my photog stuffs done by Monday night.  Be patient with me please.  I have a feeling I’m going to keep digging through these party photos to see if there are any more gems.  Or any more inappropriate-ness.
