Because I've Been A Busy Chica
Posted by Brooke on Thursday Nov 12, 2009 Under Photog StuffsWork is kicking my butt again this week. I usually get to stay in my safe little pod and churn out media buys like it’s my day job (wait… that is my day job) but this week I was forced to interact with others. I have no problem interacting but it takes a toll on me. I don’t know how sales people do it. All the smiling, the small talk, the late nights, the early mornings, the face-to-face meetings… I’m not cut out for it.
After a quick trip and overnight stay for the job, I was wiped. Mentally and physically useless. Luckily, I was a smart cookie and put photos for 3 days of posts on flickr. But I’ve used them all. I’m almost compelled to do a repeat of the zipper because it’s so damn hot. But I won’t.
Instead, I’m going to share some pictures I took while visiting my big bro’s small town. It’s not too small, but it’s definitely a town… I would not classify it as a city. But we walked all over the darn place and in shutterboo fashion, I took pictures of everything we saw. Here are some of my favorites.
Downtown at Main and 13th Street. It was a bee-yoo-tiful day.
For all you D&D-ers that may still read the blog, this place has “Game Knight”. Play before you buy.
The local paper. It was small. Like postage stamp size.
The Fire House. There was a truck across the street with lights on and everything but I was not about to play paparazzi with these folks. They’d think I was a lunatic.
The Court House. On the circle. I love little round-about streets that circle court houses.
The Astra. It’s the old movie theatre. Big Bro has ideas for “when he hits the lottery” for this place. It’s quite nostalgic.
Another view of the Astra. And black and white. If only the neon sign was lit up…

All these shots are amazing! I particularly like the b/w shot of the Astra – such an usual angle.
