Self-Portraiteer

SP

I’m always looking at others’ photo projects.  Be it challenges, creating art with images, Photoshop experiments, personal endeavors… it all interests me.

And plants seeds in my gray matter.

I’m intrigued with the 365 project.  Intrigued and overwhelmingly frightened.  I usually don’t go a day without picking up a camera but having a personal challenge where I have to have a photo to upload everyday… well, that’s way too over-achiever-ish for this gal.  And then PodMate goes off and not only does a 365 project but takes 365 photos of herself.  Girl tackled the 365 self-protrait project and finished with some very wise words.

That got my gears turning.

So while the idea of 365 boggles my mind [and I will not being doing that, nuh-uh] I’d like to try my hand at more self-portraits.  Since I’m always snapping away, I forget to get pictures of myself.  Unless Little Skipper is around.  Or Mel is catching a special moment with a special cake.  But for the most part, all of my own photos don’t include me.  I need to change this.

So I pledge that when I come up with an idea that strikes me as interesting, I’m going to try to take a self-portrait.  If I can’t make it work out myself, how am I supposed to make it work out with another person (aka awesome models that are awesome)?  Well, that’s not a good way to word it but you get my drift.  And maybe, just maybe, I’ll learn more about the kahuna.

[I just won’t be doing this daily.  Because that freaks me out.]

Susan the Pod-Mate - You’re off to a great start! No need to do it daily, but like you said, when you have a good idea, go for it! Can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Victoria - Awesome! I really like this first pic. You’re off to a good start.
I, myself decided to start, well, I should say, I finally got around to posting my 365 photos. I had a file of them sitting on the computer and three months in I posted them. Whew!
Funny to think that I’m not intimidated at all by a 365 project, but, to even think of trying a self portrait project? Not ready to go there. Hmmm…. I think that says somethin’. I’ll keep the idea on the back burner though.

Here’s a link to 365riddle. I’d like it you took a peek and let me know what you think.

katie o. - you know my attitude towards project 365. but i like the idea of the self-portrait and doing it at your leisure. (say that with a british accent by the way). :)

shutterboo - Totally heard it in a British accent – leisure most definitely. This isn’t a project but a promise to make myself try new things.

shutterboo - And I love you for it but I don’t have any of them. *hint hint*

shutterboo - Love your 365 but it takes forever for the next photo to upload – I might just have to scavenge your flickr.

Victoria - Hmm… sorry ’bout that. I went to Flickr and fixed that set. Now it is no longer private.
I did not originally use Flickr url ’cause the image seemed so small on the monotone blog theme. But, you are more than welcome to take a peek now. :)

shutterboo - I love them! I don’t think I’d be able to keep it up though – 1 photo due a week is enough for me. :)
