Week 42: Bridge
This week’s challenge entry was made possible thanks to Paco. Paco, my point and shoot camera. I haven’t been in the “mood” lug that kahuna around so I changed it up a bit. Paco and I took a short walk down the Riverfront, taking in the sights and sounds of the Ohio River and I worked him over.
Looking at the images on the computer, I was able to narrow it down quickly. Two shots held my interest. And with a little editing, I got what I had hoped for.
Here is my bridge:
I really like two things about this shot. The first is how industrial it is. I have a hard time photographing buildings and structures. They never really turn out the way I want but I think this works pretty well. The composition is off-center and there’s so much texture. I dig. But that glare/flare/sunburst seals the deal for me. I love a good sun flare. That’d be the second thing I like about this shot.
I’m excited to see what everyone else shot. I imagine there are some big bridges, some small bridges, some middle-of-the-road bridges… made of metal, stone, wood… endless possibilities. I will be heading over to our flickr group immediately. Next week (week 43!!) we’ll see some “button” photos – so many ways to interpret this one. I hope we have a lot of participants!

You definetely sealed the shot with the sun glare! It looks Almost Nostalgic! I can see myself in the back of a convertible looking up as the car goes under the bridge and probably listening to a song by Norah Jones or something jazzy and soft.
Love it!
oooh – I like that story!
Love all the texture in your shot.
I had a lot of bridge photos in my photo library. It was hard to choose so I submitted 3.
