Week 45: Hat

I don’t even know how to start this post.  An explanation would probably be best.  Let me just say that this week’s photo took place at work.  I’ll give you more in a minute.

Here is my hat:

Week 45: Hat

Yes.  Edward.  With a mustache.

A few of the ladies in my office are Twilight fans.  I haven’t read the books.  Or seen the movies.  Nothing to be shocked about as I still haven’t read Harry Potter.  Edward’s cardboard cut-out ended up in the office as a birthday gift; a month long present with fun puzzle pieces to be removed one day at a time.  And Edward has remained.

Edward likes the attention.  He’s been dressed up several times.  Last year for Derby he was a jockey.  Another time he wore a bow in his hair.  And if I’m not mistaken, he was also a pirate for a few days.  So why not be a boat captain.  He earned his mustache after the last movie came out.  It seems fitting that get captain status now.

The thing that bugs me about Edward is his creepiness.  He occasionally gets moved and when you walk into an empty office and see a man behind the potted tree in the conference room, your heart skips a beat.  I’ve done several double-takes just to see that it’s a paper vampire.  But I like him here.  We should give him his own desk.  With vampire accessories and what not.

Next week’s challenge is “down.”  This will be a fun one to play with.  Don’t forget to check out the flickr pool’s photos to see everyone else’s photos.  Or click on the Challenger Roll page to view the challengers’ personal flickr streams and blogs.  You might find your new favorite read.

Wendi - I love fun coworkers. We had a life sized, cross dressed Ken doll (out of foamcore) one place I worked. We named her Kendra. She came to the office picnic one year. I miss Kendra. I think she would like your Edward but I am kind of freaked out by your Edward.

Susan - I think at this point, Edward deserves his own office. But a windowless office, obviously.

Brooke - @Wendi – Kendra sounds awesome!
@Susan – You’re so witty. :)

katie o. - holy crap i literally laughed out loud. you definitely win for the most creative hat shot! and something tells me edward likes the attention.

Melissa - I am not a fan of him. or him as edward.. but a co worker in my office would kill to have that!

June 30, 2010 - 9:00 pm

Brooke - @katie Eddie loves it. He liked the jockey outfit the best.
@Melissa I really don’t know anything about the actor or the character. But I get a kick out of my co-workers. They’ve been moving Edward all over the office this week.

Angie - This is so funny! I bet the pirate Cullen was great, too.

omawarisan - You do know that eventually someone will raise the ante and he will end up in the restroom, right? Be that someone. I believe in you.

July 1, 2010 - 11:24 am

Brooke - @Oma: It’s a public restroom. As in we share it with an entire building, not just our office. I think Eddie would either be a) stolen by a hussy from another floor, b) trashed by janitor because this wouldn’t sit well with her or c) reported to Dave at security and end up getting tased. I think c would be the coolest. Dave really hasn’t had much action since the drunk bum walked into the lobby yelling. We heard about that one for weeks. But with Eddie, he’d be a vampire slayer.
