Week 46: Down

A year is a really long time to do something.  I know that there are people out there that have been doing 365 projects for three years.  That ain’t me, kids.

It’s starting to slip my mind and I really think it’s because we’re on the last wind of our 52 week challenge; only six more weeks left.  At eight o’clock last night, I dragged my butt out of bed and sorted through photos I had taken last week, hoping that I’d have a “down” photo.  Well wouldn’t you know…

Here is my down:

Week 46: Down

Cooling down.  Down for the count.  This doggin is as down as she can get.  I didn’t even think about the challenge when I took this.  I just  had to get a shot of that puddle of pink tongue on the tile.  This is post-frisbee.  I had to make her stop.  Chase doesn’t even recognize her own limits.  She’s addicted.  I don’t think they offer a 12-step program for frisbee fiends.  Maybe they should.  I mean, she refused a cookie just for another toss.

Next week’s challenge is “fruit”.  I’m challenging myself to get a nice photo before this weekend.  Then no scampering around the night before.  Don’t forget to check out the flickr group and see how others interpreted “down”.  Until next week… I got nothing clever… it’s too early for that today.  Have a happy hump day.

Jun Belen - That’s a gorgeous photo of Chase!! It’s amazing how dogs don’t recognize their limits. Stanford’s the same way. The corgi would run and chase balls until he can no longer walk. Most of the time he’d hurt himself and he’d be limpy the following morning — but still with that big grin in his face — like he’s telling me: look I had the best time in my life!! I could see Chase doing the same thing just by looking at this photograph.

katie o. - I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Chase and Justice need to be friends. Justice is the exact same way. I swear he would frisbee himself to death if we didn’t stop him. But Chase is so freaking cute it melts my heart. Great shot!

nigel - Hello. Love the site and love that photo of your dog. (S)He’s gorgeous. I take part in a monthly open competition and bi-monthly theme but weekly themes sound cool as well! Enjoying the website, hopefully (if it’s okay) maybe I can join the flickr group and take up the challenge :)

Brooke - @nigel We’re almost complete with the challenge; only 6 more weeks until the year of photos is done. But I encourage you to challenge yourself. Use the list as your inspiration or make your own. It’s been fun to see how things are interpreted, how others’ minds work and how far you can push yourself.

Amy - THAT is a awesome photo! Love it!
I wish I could take pictures like that of one of my dogs, Ripley. If she even sees the camera she runs out of the room. She knows the sound the camera makes when I turn it on. She thinks it will steal her soul or something.
