It’s Coming Together Slowly

Fleur

My craft room, that is.  I have so much to do, or so my to do list says, and I’m just taking my sweet time.  Mostly because I have so much going on right now that my head might explode.  Work is getting busy – that’s what having a busy season means.  And my October is booked solid – every weekend on the calendar is written on; I’m trying to keep my weekdays for doing things like grocery shopping, cleaning, laundry, relaxing… because I have no time on the weekends.  This probably means no sleeping in. *sad face*

This past Friday I picked up my sewing machine.  I decided on the Brother 2600i.  It’s inexpensive (and thanks to Walmart’s site-to-store I paid zero shipping) but still offers a wide-range stitches and what not for this beginner to set up shop.  I got it out of the box.  That’s it.  It’s still sitting in the floor of my craft room but it’s out of the box.  It’s pretty.

So much to do in that room.  The desk is in place and I can finally access the closet.  All my supplies are upstairs; no more worries of drywall dust being caked on them.  I have stacks of paper, felt, ribbon spools that are everywhere.  I have cork boards to hang, frames to move around, I need to organize my desk like whoa… but I think it’s going to end up being a work in progress for a while.

As for the sewing machine?  I’d like to think I can get her up and running in a week or so but it might be more like Thanksgiving.  And maybe I can get some other stuff done that weekend too.

Maybe.  I really don’t like being too much of an overachiever on my days off if I don’t have to be.

Wendi @ Bon Appetit Hon - Dear, dear Boo, I knew the Universe meant for us to be friends. I am a solid underachiever on my days off. I miss out on going to the farmer’s market because Saturday is my only day to sleep past 6:30…and I’m ok with that.

Have you decided on a name for your sewing machine?

Denise - Sounds like you have WAY TOO much to do. I’m the laziest person I know, so I’m in awe that you even have a to do list.

Becki D - I’m excited for you!! Sounds like that room is gonna be a crafter’s paradise by the new year, for sure! ;-)

Brooke - @Wendi- I think I need to use the machine before naming it… let it talk to me a little. It will happen though. It always happens.
@Denise- I long to be completely lazy. One day I will have a cleaning lady. One day…
@Becki- Way to be optimistic. :) It won’t be a paradise but it will be nice to have a place to go to.

katie o. - Love the idea of a craft room. Once you get it all set up, take some pictures. I can’t wait to see it.

Amy - Sounds like we got similar sewing machines. It’s so simple to use. I love it!
And, hey, having a craft room in progress is better than having no craft room at all.
