The People Make The Difference

I’ve held many a job over the years.  I’ve done the food industry.  I’ve done retail.  I’ve done admin.  I’ve done data entry.  And though I’m not far into my post-college career there’s one thing that I know about work: the people make the difference.

I loved working at Schlotzsky’s Deli in high school because the people I worked with were fantastic.  I disliked retail because I had a boss that was crude.  I didn’t mind admin because most of the folks were good people that worked hard.  (I said most.)  Nobody likes data entry.  And even now, I enjoy my job.  Sometimes the work can be a stinker but the people I see everyday keep me coming back.  (The pay check helps too.)

My fabulous co-workers – and I mean fabulous in every sense of the word – are smart, dedicated and funny.  They’re supportive too – I work with some very artistic people and they encourage  my little photo hobby, even modeled for many of my photo challenge submissions.

They can make a bad day all good.  And throw a little mustache in for good measure.

Wendi @ Bon Appetit Hon - Boo, are y’all hiring because your coworkers look like a big ball of fun. And I agree that the people you work with have a tremendous impact on your overall job satisfaction.

Amy - Oh, you are so right. If it weren’t for two great women that I work with, I would have busted out of my office a long time ago. They make all the difference.

katie o. - I love, love, love it!
And you are so right. It’s the people that make the job. If you didn’t have them, it’d be pretty hard to get out of bed every morning. And these look like some pretty stinking cool cats.

Dionne Baldwin - That’s awesome! I have to agree with you wholeheartedly. a terrible boss and unpleasant co workers make life miserable. It’s priceless to find people you enjoy spending your days with AND take a sincere interest in you. :)
