Week 6: Repetition

So yeah.  This marks the first week out of 52 that I am not totally satisfied with my photo submission.  Inspiration was lacking.  I had no ideas that were all “ooooh.” Disappointing week, yo.  But I tried and delivered… I delivered something, OK, that’s all that matters right now.

The weather has been so cold and a little snowy and I don’t go out in this weather unless I absolutely have to.  For example, I absolutely have to go to work or I don’t get paid.  So I went to work.  And while at work, Mac made his way out of my bag and we scoured the office for “repetition.”

It’s everywhere, really.  Offices, pods, columns, tiles… but none of it is attractive.  It’s unattractiveness would have to do since it feels like Saskatoon, Canadia outside.

Here is my repetition:

Week 6: Repetition

The lights in the office.  They run the whole length of the space.  And when I was focusing on the one above me and moved my lens by mistake, I got this shot.  Out of focus.  Fuzzier.  But way more interesting than the one in focus.  (Believe me.)  But the eye sees more than the lights repeating.  The vertical columns on the left.  The horizontal planks of the open-ceiling.  And the few lights that are burned out are the best part – little parts to break up the pattern.

Don’t forget to check out the WPC Flickr Group to see how others captured “repetition.”  I just heard PodMate say “Oh, this was a good week” so I need to mosey on over myself.  And there’s also the Challenger Roll – take a gander if you have a few.

Six weeks down already.  Let’s see… for Week 7’s subject we’ll be capturing FEAR.  Cannot wait.  Good luck and happy snapping!

Brooke - I didn’t push myself like I did the previous weeks. But I’m thinking Week 7 will change that. :)

Mrs. Rev - I like the fuzziness of it and the processing. You may not be in love with it, but it’s still a great shot.

Meredith - Brooke, I really think you captured the corporate environment. It’s worth 1,000 words for sure. Good job.

Tom B. Taker - I like your repetition photo. A lot. Your meh photos leave my best in the dust.

Fear, eh? The timing on that actually works out nicely. I think I have an idea…

Victoria - I think this one is great. We are our own worse critics, no?
