Week 15: Movement

Last week, I was motivated to experiment with Mac and try my hand at panning.  But every time it was nice outside, I was running around the city, meeting up with friends, taking advantage of the sunshine.  When I was at home and had time to experiment, it was pouring down rain.  And boy did it rain this weekend.  Panning just wasn’t going to happen inside le house [without something disastrous occurring simultaneously].  So I had to decide on something else.

Here is my movement:

Week 15: Movement

A little finger tapping action.  I wanted to capture something a little outside of the box but this as far out of the box I got because I dislike exerting my brain power.  I think the final image turned out pretty cool though – kind of “out of body experience” like.  I dig.

Head on over to the WPC Group on Flickr – there are some clever, clever shots.  There’s a few that I looked at and immediately thought “There’s no way this brain could have contemplated that.”  For reals.  There’s also the Challenger Roll where you can read through some of the Challengers’ blogs.  But right now I’m ready to move on to next week.

Week 16’s subject is SIMPLE.  Simple: natural, uncluttered, straightforward, not difficult, modest.  Good luck!

Wendi @ Bon Appetit Hon - So are you going to share the “how” of this? I gots to know.

Brooke - Well, first I left the 35mm on because I’m too lazy to change lenses. I increased the f/stop (f/7.1) to adjust for the slower shutter speed (exposure 0.3 second). And then I set the camera on the table and flipped it to the remote setting. I drummed my fingers while I hit the remote until I got something that didn’t make me look like a big pink blob in the background. And that’s all she wrote.

Gena - What a great shot, I did not participate this week since I didn’t know what to shoot. I wanted to go out at night and get some tailights from the cars going by, but the weather was not helpful!

Susan - I know I should be looking at the technicality of the shot, but I can’t help admiring your manicure. :)

Amy - This is very cool! This was a great idea for a shot.

April 13, 2011 - 12:03 pm

Wendi @ Bon Appetit Hon - I have a follow up question – what is the name of that nail polish you’re sporting?

April 14, 2011 - 8:33 am

Rachel - What is panning that you were wanting to do? Do you mean like making a panorama type thing? I am very curious.

April 14, 2011 - 12:47 pm

Anamaris - I so miss playing with you, I’m hoping to be back next Wednesday. I got a new camera!!!! Her name is Nikita.

Joan Nova - Love it! And you for these weekly challenges!

“simple”, btw, is not simple.
