With shutterboo hitting it’s terrible twos this week, I’ve been reflecting on my experience. Many see a blog as an online journal. A place where someone can type to their heart’s desire about whoever or whatever they want. And while I agree, I also understand blogging to be a way to connect with a community of other bloggers, to relate to other people across the country and even around the world.
You learn that you can build relationships with people even without speaking or holding eye contact. You learn to laugh with these people, to comment and joke with them… become virtual pen-pals with them. It’s not only about what you want to write – it’s about connecting with someone else. To me, that’s been the best part about blogging. So I wanted to share some link love today.
I always have my favorite links available to peruse but they are front and center today. Some of these bloggers I know in real life. Some of them have become friends over the last couple years. Some of them are complete strangers and have no idea I exist. Some write about life. Some write about observances. Some are photo blogs. Some are food blogs. But all of these blogs I read on a regular basis.
So while I may not know all of the writers behind the home page, I appreciate the effort they put into their work because I enjoy reading what they share. I let them all live in my Google Reader free of charge.
