Monday Monday…

It’s Monday.  It’s listastic.  So be it.

  • My weekend was filled with so many good things but none of them would have been as good without friends.  The hubs and I have remained friends with so many good people from college and made new friends along the way and well, we know we have a good thing going on.
  • I started off my adventures on a Friday lunch outing with a friend.  The Blind Pig was oh-so-yummy and believe me when I say don’t skip out on dessert.  But to be honest, I’m not a big fan of bacon in my ice cream.  It’s not as satisfying as I had hoped.  Gimme the butter pecan, hold the bacon.
  • And while I expected to be picked up by my dear friend for lunch in a vehicle with four wheels, he in fact showed up on a motorcycle.  Surprised?  Yes.  Scared?  Meh.  But I do know now that the second rider seats are completely uncomfortable.  I repeat: completely uncomfortable.  However, I can totally rock a helmet.
  • Saturday included an ice cream social at that just happened to be a baby shower.  (My kind of party.)  Good food, good friends, good presents, good ice cream and good shower games – I walked away a winner and pocketed a gift card to The Comfy Cow.  To say I was happy is an understatement.
  • Making shower games competitive has been my saving grace.  So just know if we attend one together, you’re going down.  Baby bingo is my thang.
  • Did you catch the Man vs. Food Nation that stopped in Louisville?  That included behind the scene looks at The Brown Hotel and Lynn’s Paradise Cafe?  And had a 15 scoop challenge at The Comfy Cow?   No?  You missed out.
  • Saturday also included more friend time.  A fire pit.  Graham crackers.  Hershey bars.  And marshmallows.  Big, gigantor marshmallows.  S’mores were made.  And consumed.  I smiled.
  • Seriously, start the day with ice cream and end with s’mores?!?  It doesn’t get more fantabulous than that!
  • Sunday was matinee day.  And I saw it.  Crazy Stupid Love.  Crazy stupid funny.  Crazy stupid cute.  And Ryan Gosling is crazy stupid HOT.
  • I crazy stupid want to see it again.  (Me thinks it will  join my DVD collection in six or so months).
  • This week is a busy one.  Filled with editing, menu planning, ball making and a few other things.  But I’m excited to whip up the bourbon balls – it means we’re that much closer to the Kentucky State Fair!

J. Smith - You will never beat me at the belly measuring game. Never. I. am. unstoppable. Women marvel at my ability to eyeball their belly and guess it’s diameter within half of an inch. Some things are just learned after 7 years of professionally measuring ta-tas. Guessing the circumfrence of a person is one of them. :)

Shelly B - I’m guessing by the big, gigantor marshmallows that you used the ones that are 4 times the size of the Jumbo Marshmallows? They.Are.Awesome!

Brooke - They were the size of my fist. The only thing I didn’t like was the center didn’t cook. So I had another go round with the roasting and just ate two s’mores instead. Who am I to complain though?
