It had been far too long since I’ve visited with Stacia and Wyatt’s family. I think the last time I saw Cali she was only a year old. And Jonah was only a twinkle in their eye then. Now Cali is four and Jonah is one and a half. Where does the time go? But I can now say that I’ve visited… and am now aware that I’ve missed out on so much because these kids are beyondo awesomo. That little girl is something else.
Besides the head-to-toe pink outfit and her pink purse that held a stuffed horse, Cali reminded me so much of her momma. Her mannerisms, the faces she made as she spoke to you, her answers to questions were so deliberate… this little girl is Stacia made over again. It makes my heart smile. And Jonah… he’s a total daddy’s boy. This makes me believe he’ll be more like Wyatt. He may be tot-size but has the most delightful smile. And his smile grows wider when he’s sang to. Be it Wheels on the Bus or an eight year old rap song [that happens to be the only thing you know the lyrics to at that certain time].
Such sweet, sweet friends I have. I’ll never tire of seeing their faces light up when they lock eyes with their children.
It’s really a blessing they share these moments with me… I feel like the lucky one.
