Week 34: Abstract

I tried to think of what I wanted to photograph this week for “abstract.”  None of my ideas were stellar but over the weekend, I had a good idea that had to wait til Monday.  Armed with Mac and surrounded by beautiful weather, I made the seven block trek to the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts where a duo of abstract statues sit.  Unfortunately, they weren’t there.  Something about restoration.  Bummer.

Here is my abstract:

Week 34: Abstract

The statues may have been missing but the whole building is abstract.  I call that a safety net.  I walked around the concrete jungle in front of KCPA and tried different shots.  This is the one I liked best.  The reflections of the buildings across the street, the looming Humana tower and the smaller iron facade buildings next door.  I think the only thing that would have made this more interesting would have been to shot it at night – because the building looks beautiful at nighttime.

OK, so make your way to the Flickr group – there were some pretty awesome ideas captured this week.  And don’t forget about the Challenger Roll.  We have 34 weeks down and making the move to Week 35.  Our new subject will be YELLOW.  Color challenge time!  Good luck and happy snapping!
