A September Wedding

Earlier this month, I was asked if I’d like to second shoot a wedding.  I like weddings.  Because there’s cake.  But of the few I’ve helped photograph, I know they can send my stress levels over the top.  So of course, I agreed.  The idea of working with a professional wedding photographer and spending the day with long-time acquaintances – there was no way I could say no.

So with my gear in tow, I headed to Huber’s Winery with Courtney Reece Photography.  Courtney and I go way back – like all the way back to kindergarten.  And over the years we’ve kept in touch (thank you Facebook) and I’ve admired her photography since the day I learned she had a business.  Not only is she sweet and fun to be around, but her work with natural light makes me swoon.  I had the most wonderful, stress-free time assisting Courtney this day.

The couple of the hour, Heather and Clinton, made me smile so much my cheeks hurt that night.  Heather was absolutely gorgeous, her dress was unique and fit her perfectly.  And Clinton – you can see how much he adores her every time he glanced her way.  Families had traveled far to see these two tie the knot and I believe that everyone was thrilled to be a part of their big day.

Honestly, I was thrilled to be a part of their day too.

Best wishes to Heather and Clinton.   And big thanks to Courtney for the amazing opportunity.

Todd - Sorry if this is a dumb question, becuase I’ve been reading the blog for a while now and really should know this, but do you do this professionally, because you should. These pictures are so much better than what you usually see from a “wedding photographer.”

Brooke - Thank you, Todd. I have to say that Courtney is a beautiful wedding photographer and I was shooting over her shoulder. :) But since you missed the boat earlier this year, I did open myself a business on the side for lifestyle and portrait photography. I call it… Shutterboo Photography. Original, heh?
