The Selches {family}

My friends Emily and Brent have three little boys.  I was excited to photograph the newest fella, Ethan, this summer.  He was only days old but sweet as could be, content and quiet.  Which happens to be the exact opposite of his older brothers, Colin and Lucas.  They may be loud and rumble-and-tumble-gogogo all the time, but they are lots of fun.  Emily says that Colin is inquisitive, always wanting know the “why” and “how.”  And that Lucas is a typical three year old that doesn’t stop.  And that baby Ethan “deals with the noise very well.”  Three boys.  And two very proud parents.

That Lucas… he is a charmer.  He kept his gaze with me the entire time.  Love it!

I’m always listening to my friends when they’re with their children.  I’ve enjoyed seeing the people I’ve shared late nights with become parents.  The way they hold their kids, cheer them on, encourage them.  But Emily takes the cake on hilarious sayings.  I imagine when you’re surrounded by the male kind, your quick wit develops much faster.

Little Ethan.  He’s so much bigger than this summer.  And he’s already bigger than when I snapped this picture.  He’s growing like a weed.

So while the Selch boys “make it their personal mission to make sure everyone sees and hears” them, I wouldn’t want them any other way.  They are the definition of fun.  Fun to be around, fun to play tag with, fun to watch… just plain fun.  I really believe Brent and Emily got lucky when they had these three little men join their forces.
