Snow Day - 03/05/12

• Talk about some weird weather.  Friday produced the most unseasonal weather yet this winter that included several tornadoes tearing through Kentucky and Indiana.  Louisville was sacrificed.  But our neighbors 19 miles north in Henryville were not as lucky.

• Monday morning brought more unexpected weather: four inches of snow.  At least that was what was on the deck.  The doggins loved it.  And I have to admit I enjoyed my drive into work very much so.  Everything was beautiful.  But I know it only caused more headaches for the tornado victims.

• I’m ready for spring – anyone else?

• My knitting groove is back yet again.  You would not believe how badly I butchered the pattern.  Hat construction is underway and will be finished shortly. *happy dance*

• Speaking of the woolly stuff, I’ve picked out a new project for moi.  And I think I want to use special yarn.  Here’s to not getting overwhelmed at the yarn shop.

• “A little goes a long way” is very useful advice.  And it applies to the usage of dry shampoo.  Throw in the fact that I’m a  brunette and then we all realize that I saw what my hair will look like when I reach 40.  45 if I’m lucky.

• I know I missed the first (maybe second?) episodes of the new season of Justified, but I’m happy to report that I am up to date on what the DVR did record.  AND IT’S GREAT! Mr. Limehouse is such a good addition this season.  Raylan is still a badass.  But Boyd Crowder will always be my favorite.

• And I saw that a little Louisville was wrinkled into the show via William Mapother.  High fives to being the manager of the trailer park brothel, my man!

• You seriously need to watch it, people.

• I did have to stop watching The Walking Dead though.  I was having too many nightmares.  (Even though the zombies have been fewer, the suspense is what’s making my imagination soar.)  But that didn’t keep me and shouldn’t keep you from visiting the new Hey Girl, Daryl Dixon tumblr.  You can thank Amy of Fix It Or Deal and her inability to let good ideas go to waste.

katie o. - Everyone should be watching Justified.
I think I’m in love with Raylan the way Amy is in love with Daryl.
And you nailed it…she has some killer good ideas and we’ll all be able to say we knew her when…

ps. love the photo. :)

Wendi @ Bon Appetit Hon - Can I just say that your photo is absolutely lovely. The snow on that budding tree is quietly beautiful.
