My cousins, Theresa and Billy, were expecting their baby in February.
Our entire family was so happy for them, so excited to hear of their pregnancy. My Aunt Sherry was known to make “bun in the oven” jokes by tossing a bag of hotdog buns under her shirt. My Uncle Phil couldn’t help but smile when he talked about them. My brood of cousins are all cuckoo for babies so they sent nonstop love letters to the couple via Facebook. Soon-to-be Uncle Chris had plans that included taking naps with his new niece or nephew in the recliner. Even my own parents were making plans to visit them in the hospital when the big day came.
Not skipping a beat, on February 18th Theresa and Billy were blessed with a child. The child they had hoped to meet for seven years was finally a here. Ten fingers, ten toes, a perfect-every-way, healthy baby boy.
His name is William Conrad Clifford IV. He is their gift to the world, their legacy.
*my cup runneth over*
My cousins are so worthy of the happiness they’ve been granted. Patience, prayer and hopefulness gifted them a great new chapter in their lives, one that’s sure to be filled with mud pies, tractor rides, exploring in the woods and all the fun things that little boys do. I look forward to seeing William grow, seeing him play with his own cousins and get into the same trouble his dad did. But right now, I just look forward to the next time I get to hold him and tell him how special is really is.
