Pinterest. It’s a strange addiction, but an addiction no less. The ability to bookmark new recipes, wise words on digital posters, that “how to” on reupholstering a chair, beautiful accessories and dream room designs, all in one place? Magnificent idea.
I’m a pinner. I love pinning. Seriously. I may not always act on my pins, but they make me happy, give me inspiration and provide a make believe world of beautiful things. Everyone should have a make believe world of beautiful things. It should be no surprise that my favorite Pinterest board is my “Put My Face In It” board. It consists of all things I want to put my face into. They are, of course, all sweet treats. After flipping through the board, I can say that I’ve only attempted to make one of these treats. Granted, I’ve made it about a dozen times now, but only one.
So thank you, Pinterest. Your magic ways of discovery have provided me the chance to memorize a recipe for instant desserts for one.
My waistline tells a different story of magic, but never places blame on Nutella Mug Cake. Ever.Nutella Mug Cake Makes cake for one. Do not attempt to share. – 4 tablespoons self-rising flour – 4 tablespoons sugar – 1 egg – 3 tablespoons cocoa – 3 tablespoons milk – 3 tablespoons vegetable oil – 3 tablespoons Nutella 1. Combine all ingredients in a large, microwavable coffe mug. Whisk well with fork until smooth. (I’ve found that mixing it in a cereal bowl makes for smoother batter. And I do not attempt to mix the Nutella – I just plop it into the center of the mug once it’s all together.) 2. Microwave for 1-3 minutes. (I usually go 1½ minutes. I tend to like gooey cake, especially with a super gooey Nutella center.) 3. Top with whatever you like, Cool Whip, Redi-Whip, more chocolate – I’m usually too impatient and just dig in. SO GOOD!
