Baby Clark {newborn}

My goodness people.  I thought I was going to have to sit on this session until the New Year… even though all I wanted to do was share it with you… and then I got the blessing earlier this week.

No more waiting.  Whew.

It’s time to blow off the lid and tell the world about Baby Clark.

First, let me tell you a little about this family.  The Weisenbargers are for realsies one of the nicest families ever.  They’re polite, thoughtful, consider the details, very happy and know how to have a good time.  All those things, and more, bundled up into this one perfect little family.  Every time I visit with Amy (who is a fabulous former co-worker), I leave with a smile on my face.  I kid you not – her happiness is contagious and I love it!

Big Sister Anna fits the Weisenbarger bill and is so so so cute. I don’t know how she does it, but she has me wrapped around her little finger.  And to see her with her new baby brother?  In a single word: gah.

Baby Clark was born in October and he is so hard not to fall in love with.  I think I visited Amy three times in eight weeks… to visit Clark.  At least the last time include some family photos and newborn photos – I had a legitimate reason to pull in their driveway and let myself in. :)  I think Amy summed up our session best: no crying, no accidents and no spit up… awesome.  As I was editing, I fell in love with the black and white photos from their session.  They just presented an entirely different feeling than the color images.  So I decided to blog in black and white.

Meet the Weisenbargers and their newest family member, Baby Clark.

This little man is loved by many and I know that he will grow up strong and just as entertaining and fabulous as Big Sister Anna.  Thank you again, Amy and Seth, for letting me a part of your lives and letting me love on Baby Clark as much as I have.  Much love to you guys.  I’ll be over this evening to get more snuggles in.  ;)

Amy - Your words are too kind! I wish there had been a picture of what was going on on the other side of the lens to get smiles out of the kids. Priceless! Thanks again for these beautiful images. I cherish them already.

Glenn - Those kids should be models.

• Things have finally slowed down on the homefront… at least on the session-wise.  Still have editing to wrap for the holidays, some blogging to do and somehow already got myself making goals for 2013.  In a nutshell, my brain is still going 100 miles a minute.  But I think that’s a good thing.

• With all this 2012 goal assessments and 2013 goal planning, I am really looking forward to next year.  I think it’s going to be frickin great.

• I might have designed new branded stickers… maybe.  I think I have a mild sticker obsession.  And thanks to, I can fulfill the obsession quite easily.

• So you know that I work Shutterboo Photography on the side, right?  At the day job, I’ve been cooking and mixing and baking things into awesomesauce.  Including submitting my first article into our company magazine, Logic+Magic.  A small contribution and definitely not the last, but I’m very proud of my first publication. :)

• The hubs and I spent our Thanksgiving day with family – his and mine.  And while we were at my Granny’s, my sweet Uncle Timmy did my most favoritest thing the world: whispered he loved me into my ear when he hugged me.  It gets me every time.

• This past Friday was one for the record books.  A wonderful dinner with wonderfrul friends that resulted in too many laughs, too many beers and making some mommas-to-be stay out too late past their bedtime.  But it was worth it.

• Maybe because both of the most beautiful pair of blue eyes in the county were present.  Gotta love Rev and Thurman when they get together. ;)

• I think I said to the hubs at least five times that night that we have the best friends.  We really do.  Everyone we know is a joy to be around and makes time fly.

The Carters {family}

I have soooo many friends with suuuuch cute kids it’s ridiculous.  I wish I was lying about how beautiful their children are, but I’m not.  Each are cute in their own way with their own personalities, but I always look forward to spending time with Avery and her mom and dad.  I guess because I see her cuteness ooze via Juliane and Facebook.  It seems that Avery knows how to have a fun time and knows how to bring it.  And she’s as sweet as can be.

At two now, it had been a whole year since I’ve photographed the Carter family.  Last time, Juliane’s extended family came along and we took advantage of everyone being together.  But this time, it was their nuclear unit of three.  So we set off on a morning walk with bright light and took a walk together.  And I just love what we were able to capture. :)

Avery’s gotten so big.  Turning into a little girl in the blink of an eye.

My fave.  I love the light, the rim light, the trees, the warmth… I JUST LOVE IT ALL!

Another fave.  Avery’s just having a grand o’time walking with mom and dad. :)

You may remember last fall that Avery had the best Halloween costume ever and Juliane had asked me to photograph her in it.  Well, Avery wasn’t too keen on it that day, which made it even better because she was a cupcake.  A cupcake, people.  (To see this insane cuteness, click here.)  The same request came this year and I was dying to know what Avery was for Halloween.  Turns out our cupcake was Little Red Riding Hood this Halloween.  And just as adorable as her cherry-topped self was last year.

A great family – I love spending time with Juliane and Jerrod – and Avery was so much fun.  I think two is a great age because you can act completely silly and they act silly with you and everyone comes out all smiles.  I got to dance a lot with Avery on our walk and it was quite possibly my favorite part of the morning.  I can’t wait to see Avery grow even more and become an even sweeter little girl.  And I send all my love to Juliane and Jerrod.

katie - Are you kidding me?? These are adorable! I was already loving her little chevron dress…and then you bring out little red riding hood? I’m dying! She’s precious as are the photos.

Baby Kate {newborn}

I’ve been friends with Emily and Brent for years – FOR YEARS.  And I’ve had the absolute pleasure of photographing them and their boys a few times over the last couple years.  With three young boys, they keep me on my toes, keep me laughing and have energy for days.  But when Brent and Emily announced that they were expecting their fourth, I closed my eyes real tight and started wishing for a little girl.

Throughout the first half of her pregnancy, Emily admitted that this one felt like the three before – she was certain it was a boy.  I really think she was bracing herself for the doctor’s visit where she’d find out the sex of the baby and told herself to expect to hear that it was “another boy.”  But instead the doctor told them it was a girl.  A girl!

I know that my friends were so surprised and happy to hear that their fourth child would be a girl – a girl with three older brothers at that – but I believe that this was the cherry to top their family.  And so Baby Kate was born on October 17th.  I’m completely over the moon for this little lady – I can only imagine how her whole family feels about her.

My favorite.  So sweet to see that little face and momma’s touch.  I love it.

I’m kind of in love with this one too.  Oh Baby Kate… gah.

And yes – she slept through our entire session. :)

The Tylers {family}

Earlier this fall, I got to meet Laura and her son, Adam.  We only had a short time together since they were a mini session, but I knew – I just knew – that if I had more time with Adam, he would’ve warmed up to me a bit more.  Luck would have it that Laura wanted to set up a second session and include her dad, sister and brother-in-law.  And I had a chance to redeem myself with Adam… and see if he’d play his guitar. :)

Such a wonderful family, The Tylers, and I never tire of seeing grandparents with their grandkids, aunts with their nephews and everyone actually have the time to come together.  I’ve only had a couple family sessions that has included extended families, but I wish I had more.  It tells more of a story when you can see everyone interact, laugh together and just have fun.  And that’s just what I got to see with this family.  It was a cool afternoon, but we kept warm and took pictures of all who were present.

Adam with his granddad.

Sisters.  I couldn’t see it until they were together.  When the “older sister” jokes started. :)

I thought they were just the sweetest couple.

Guess who played his guitar! He did such a great job and put on a show for us!

Love love love that laugh!  I hope Laura loves this one as much as I do.

A small but wonderful family.  It was such a pleasure to meet the rest of Laura’s family and to see Adam play with them all.  You can tell that he’s a special little man to them all and now they have more photos to share this holiday season.  I send my best to your family, Laura!
