Listastic Tuesday

• My brother and his family visited us in Louisville this past weekend.  It was a good time, but it definitely wasn’t long enough.  A few hours here and there every couple months just doesn’t feed my soul enough.

• That’s him and his wife, Tammy.  I love them both so much.  So so much.  But Tammy is definitely the prettier one.

• Things at Shutterboo Photograph has been CRAZY!  If you’re waiting on photos from me, believe me, I’m working on them.  There was just a lot inquiries this fall and I had a really hard time saying no.  But they’re coming – PROMISE!

• And I have so many wonderful families to blog about!  Stay tuned over the  next few weeks because it is my mission to blog about all of them!

• Also, don’t forget that if you are a client, to sign up for the client giveaway!  You have a week to sign up and you don’t want to miss on this chance!

• The other new thing I have going on in these here parts is a newsletter!  Not everyone has the time to visit everyday or doesn’t see what’s going on on Facebook, so I’m creating a newsletter.  If you’re interested in receiving it, you can subscribe at the tab on the left or at the bottom of this page.

The Pruietts {family}

When I met Ria’s family last fall, I kind of fell for them.  Ria was so easy to talk to, it was like visiting with a friend.  Her husband, Adam, was easy going and smiled the entire time.  And Adeline… well, she was three, cute as could be and had the biggest personality for such a little person.  But this year, I got to meet Hayden – the newest addition to the Pruiett family. And he is quite the keeper.

Gah.  Hayden is the sweetest thing ever.  And I love that perfect little top lip.

Affectionate siblings win me over.  Adeline won me over last year, but this takes the cake.

Daddy’s girl to the core. :)

Such a wonderful family and I’m so happy that I got to visit with them this fall.  To see Adeline become a big sister and love on her brother was an absolute treat – I can’t wait to see how they are together next year!

Closed: Client Giveaway! {because I love ya}

The holidays are fast approaching and there were two things I wanted to do this year that I haven’t done yet:

 

1. Host a giveaway for Shutterboo Photography clients, old and new.
2. Create a gallery wrap.

So now the two are becoming one and I’m hosting a client giveaway for a gallery wrap!

(You like what I did there, didn’t you?)

The reason why I haven’t created a gallery wrap yet is because they’re not cheap; it’s been on my to do list but selecting an image to use has been quite hard.  With a giveaway, I not only accomplish creating the product to review, but I’m not stuck making the decision of which image.  You get to decide!  And you get something pretty great in return for playing along.

So here’s the skinny:

1. The gallery wrap will be an 11×14, 1.5″ wrap – a $115 value.  The winner will select their three favorite images and we’ll discuss how each will layout before making a final decision.

2. This giveaway is also a chance for me to test the product.  I will have the product ship directly to me so that I can photograph it and examine the quality.  After I’m done, I will deliver the gallery to you (personally or by mail) in time for the holidays.  You can then keep it and hang it on your wall or gift it – the choice is yours.

3. In order to qualify for the giveaway, you must be a client of Shutterboo Photography.  Had a session last year?  You qualify!  Booked your first session later this month?  You qualify!  (Clients must have sessions booked prior to December 2012 in order to have an available image to create the product.)

4. Also, leave a comment on this blog post to be entered.  (Don’t worry, I’ll help remind you.)  Just leave a comment below telling me about your favorite photo we captured together, the one that you’d love most to see hanging on your wall.

5.  A valid email address must be included so that  I can notify you and work out the details of delivery your new gallery wrap. :)

6. Your comment must be on this post.  The giveaway closes Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 9pm EST.  That means you have almost two weeks to comment!  The winner will be randomly selected and announced on Thanksgiving Day.

rachel corbett - My favorite photo was the last one we took on our trip through downtown. We were at ease – it helps that you are so chill – and you could see what makes us “us”. The last few photos in that fountain area are all good. I love how you can see the love we have each other come through. I also love that one photo where brian is grabbing my butt! CLASSIC!
I have had so many good comments on the photos I have printed. I am sure any one of them would look good on our wall. Although, I feel like I have way too many of Brian and I kissing and staring into each others’ eyes! Love you girl!

Mandy Hillman - I had so many pictures I loved from our April session,especially the one o Amelia standing up. If I was lucky enough to win, I would probably want to use a picture from our upcoming session next week so it is more updated :) I would love it to be a family picture of the three of us. Juliane Carter - The pictures you take are so awesome it’s hard to pick a favorite! But, if I had to choose it would be Avery in her cupcake costume :) If I am the lucky winner of this fabulous giveaway I would choose a photo from our session today…likely the one of Avery sitting on the log!

Melanie - Favorite?! How can I pick a favorite! I am sitting here looking at the yawn piture from Allie’s newborn pics and it makes me smile, but the problem is they ALL make me smile. I would probaby want one of the family and they were all so great from our last shoot :)

Emily selch - I’ve been thinking long and hard about it and one of my many favorites is the one from last fall with the two older boys. They were climbing a tree and Colin rested his chin on top of Lucas’ head. The expressions on their faces are so typical of them and I love the sun in the back and the effect it created. Halloween With The Wards

Halloween is not my favorite.  Surprisingly, I don’t like dressing up.  I don’t like the scares that come with the celebrating.  And, don’t hate me, but pumpkin spice lattes aren’t my thing.  Spice anything really isn’t my thing and pumpkin is slowly making its way on to my “it’s OK” list.  But my friend Martha… she lurves Halloween.

She lurves Halloween so much, she got married on Halloween.  How ’bout them apples?

She and her husband, Alan, are close friends of ours and we not only dine with them almost weekly but vacation with them as well.  And Martha has a touch that I do not have – she’s got a bit of Martha Stewart going on.  The lady can decorate, garden, knit, cook, bake, sew, craft – her crafts make my crafts look like kindergarten creations.  If you combine her love for the spooky holiday with her eye for making a home cozy… well, you get a house decked out in everything she loves.  (But I do believe pumpkins are her fave.  She confessed she’s quite obsessed.)

So again this fall, Martha and Alan invited friends over to celebrate the season and spend time with each other.  I couldn’t help but take the camera along to show you guys how she does it up for Halloween.  A little creepy, a little kookie and a lot of cute. :)

Take Martha’s love of Halloween and Alan’s love of woodworking and you got yourself a coffin. In the front yard.

Really only one of the creepy things in the house. But it’s creepy enough.

Cake is more my style. :)

The cupcakes were chocolate pumpkin with cream cheese icing.  And so good I ate two.

Everyone needs a basket of skulls, no?

It was fun, the food was good and it’s always a treat to see little kids dressed up as dragons against they’re will.  But those cupcakes… they’re reason enough to keep going back to Martha and Alan’s.

Kristen+Dave {love}

I’ve been following Swell Dwellings on Twitter for months now.  All I knew was that she was a Louisville-area business owner, had a passion for interiors and furniture, and refurbished used furniture, giving it new life.  I later found out we had a mutual friend; she had met Robby and Heather at a local art festival.  And after that, we learned that we both know AmyHasBangs.  (I love Louisville!)  But we finally met in person last month.

I love putting a face with a Twitter handle. :)

Kristen and Dave were awesome sauce.  I know we had only just met, but I had so much fun with them.  And they laugh at my lame jokes.  (Let’s face, that doesn’t put a damper on things.)  But I was also impressed with how laid back they were.  We eased into poses, we changed things up, I stepped back and photographed them just being them.  They looked like they belonged together, make sense as a couple.  Kristen even told me that she loves where they are in their relationship right now, that she wants to remember how they feel about each other right now.  Such sweetness.

I was honored to photograph them, to capture Kristen and Dave when everything feels right.  And I can’t wait until our paths cross again… because they will.  Or when we start naming off more friends we have in common… because that will probably happen too.
