Listastic Tuesday

Today is my big brother’s birthday.  And it happens to be listastic.  Let’s combine the two, shall we?

• His name is Joseph.  Growing up I remember always calling him Joe.  For some reason, I refer to him as Joseph more these days.  That’s him in the camo.  Pretty sure it was his birthday there too.

• He named me after our long distance cousin, Brooke.  My parents tossed in the Renee.  And many friends and family call me by both.

• I secretly like it.  I call myself Brooke Renee too. (Because I talk about Brooke Renee in the third person all the time.)

• My brother has really only broken my heart once.  When he told me to get a life.  I was 11.  I wanted to go roller skating but needed a ride.  And a apparently a life as well.

• He’s made up for it several times over.  Like all the times he’s told me he loves me.  And each hug.  He gives the best hugs.  Even grunts along.

• For the longest time I thought my brother resembled Keanu Reeves.  I’ve since moved on to a short-haired Justin Long look-a-like.  Or a cross.

• Joseph is pretty smart.  I give credit where credit is due.  His father-in-law once told me he was the smartest person he’d ever met.  I corrected him and said, “Until you met me.”

• True story.  (I’m giggling on the inside right now.)

• On his wedding day, he sang Grow Old With You to Tammy, his new wife. I might have cried between my laughs.

• They have the best kids.  That do the funniest things.  Especially for money.

• I wished he lived closer.  If not just to be around the kids more often, but so I could have coffee and donuts with him on Sundays.  Ya know, when I roll out of bed at 11a.

• No, but seriously, he’s the best.  I love him more than he realizes.  And I’m so happy he’s older than me and it’s not the other way around.  Because birthday is relentless and wicked with the teasing.

Joseph - I think I made Justin’s face when you suggested I looked like either of them.

Love you.

That little girl with the blue eyes in the picture grew up and got a life. ;)

Doo Doo - I find it amazing that someone that looks like that when he is young boy, turns out looking like what after he experiences life.

You needed to put up a picture that shows him what he looks like at 38.

I bet he doesn’t look as good as his DAd

You must really love that big dopey geek.
